Business Profile

"Coir Store" is the trading name of AMH Imports Ltd, a British supplier of natural coir matting without backing to trade and retail customers.

Although Coir Store is a relatively new company, Andy Huett the director has over 18 years experience in the marquee industry.

Prior to forming the company Andy was responsible for overseeing marquee installations and dealing with customers requirements.

An avid traveller of India for the past 20 years, many times Andy has visited coir production areas and witnessed the processing methods. Combining both marquee and travel experience, Andy personally sources high quality coir for import.

As a person who has always done manual work, Andy's ethos is to ensure the workers are paid fairly for the work they do. For this reason he deals with a private supplier in India.

The supplier obtains the coir yarns from one source, and then takes that to the village cooperatives for coconut matting production. Ultimately the benefits are felt by all in these small communities.
